This sweet bundle of joy with the full head of hair was born just days before Christmas, and we photographed her Edmond newborn portraits at home in her cozy nursery. Using your home as the location for newborn portraits is always a great idea. You and your family are able to be in the most comfortable place. You’re surrounded by everything you need, in a place that wholly feels like you and the newest addition to your family. There’s nothing cookie-cutter about the session, and it makes for the most convenient portraits.
In-home portraits
This nursery was a perfect blend of of soft and sweet. Blue and white stripes covered one wall, the rest painted a neutral light beige. Pops of coral complimented the blue well, and added a sweet color combination. The family dog, or the first-born 😉, was present all the while and very interested in both the new baby and the Edmond newborn portraits. We kept the session very natural, using soft blankets and rugs for backdrops. A hand-crocheted hat made an appearance to document this sweet Christmas baby.
This season of life
My favorite photo from the session is definitely the photo below. This portrait says so much about this moment in time. The connection in the family. How the nursery looks in this season of life. And of course, sweet floppy puppy ears knowing this session is really just about her.
