After secretly eloping in the Colorado mountains just the week prior, this couple surprised the guests of their Film Row wedding with the biggest plot twist… guests were actually attending a reception celebrating the already newlyweds!

From deep in the heart of Colorado, all the way to a historic district in central Oklahoma City, these newlyweds made the absolute most of celebrating their wedding. Be sure to read the first blog post detailing their Colorado elopement before scrolling onward.
Fast forward to Hannah and Randy’s Film Row wedding day
The wedding day started like many others. Hannah, with a handful of friends and family members, got ready in the stunning bridal suite. The walls are filled with curated prints, artwork, knick knacks and mirrors. A fiddle leaf fig, pothos, xenadu plant and variety of succulents in shallow pots consequently took advantage of the many windows. Everyone in the room talked, laughed, and shared while they got ready for the ceremony.
I must brag on one of my favorite friendors, Angie with Borrowed Charm. She is simply a joy to work with. She is so warm, creative, efficient, fun, brilliant and makes my job an absolute dream. (Be sure to also peek at her blog post featuring this dreamy wedding.)
Intentional lounge areas
Filling one side of the venue, Angie and her team created four intentional lounge spaces, creating softness in the industrial building. Guests are able to relax and enjoy the wedding and one another’s company. And just like with their elopement, a handful of games were provided including Jenga and Connect Four during the celebration.
Finally getting to document a wedding at Holloway House is a dream. The three sisters running the venue have incredibly beautiful spirits and are Oklahoma treasures. Always with an urge to partake in creative endeavors, I presently took a flower arranging class with them in this beautiful venue earlier in the year. With the numerous tall windows spanning two sides of the building, it was particularily easy to envision how perfect of a setting it makes for a wedding.
Where greenery and industrial meet
For this Film Row wedding, The Wild Mother created marvelous floral installations spanning the long row of farmhouse tables. The dark wood tables and muted color palette of blooms balanced the industrial-style building and enhanced the abundance of natural light flowing in.
At the head of the room, a floral installation featuring long trailing branches from the actual weeping willow tree living in the couple’s front yard. Adding The Wild Mother’s gorgeously unreal floral creations made an already beautiful building look insanely good.
Hannah herself hand-lettered all of the agate name cards at the table, as well as various signage around the venue.
Nontraditional guest book
As an alternative guest book, guests wrote advice, memories, and wisdom on prompted cards. The cards will be opened on anniversaries, for loss, and for happy times and more difficult times. A beautiful time capsule was created for Randy and Hannah to enjoy throughout their marriage.
As guests filled the venue, mingled, and took their seats, Hannah and Randy waited just inside the bar next door. They watched guests arrive, while sneaking grins at one another, and anticipated what their guests would think of the big surprise. This was a personal favorite moment of the day. Anticipation so pure, you could nearly sense it as a being in the room.
Time for the surprise
Right as the clock struck the time of the ceremony’s beginning, the room naturally quieted. As a video began to play in the front of the room from a projector, all attention was drawn to the screen.
In less than a week’s time, Film the Vow took two and a half days of heartfelt footage and created a wedding video to top all other wedding videos. Guests watched, as the surprise quickly became known to them. Hannah and Randy hide behind a curtain nearby to watch reactions and revel in this surreal moment. As the video ended, the newlyweds emerged to applause. With a microphone, they gave a speech of thanks, explaining their plans, and welcoming everyone to enjoy this reception celebration.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the multitude of candles cast a warm glow over the room, setting the mood for a the celebration. The couple launched directly into first dances, Hannah with her father and Randy with his mother.
Food and festivities
As the full celebration began, guests (and vendors – thank you!) were treated firstly to delicious pizza from Revolve Pizza (where the couple enjoyed many dates), to drinks from Amber’s Bartending Connection, mini-donuts from Holey Rollers donuts, and all topped with a stunning three-tiered cake from Andrea Howard Cakes. The layout of the room inviting everyone within to relax, find entertainment, socialize, eat and drink well, and, of course, celebrate the couple.
From traveling to Colorado to photograph Hannah and Randy’s elopement in Breckenridge, to soon coming back home to photograph their Film Row wedding… I truly felt like a cherished member of the family. I can’t begin to tell you how special that is.
All of the thanks again to Hannah and Randy, for not only bringing me along to photograph your elopement, but also trusting me with documenting your Film Row wedding. Cheers to the two of you!
